It has never been a concious choice but it struck me that they are all transparent, except one. The one that isn't is that one that I finished myself so I guess that was a choice... Even that finish is so thin it kind of sinks into the grain.

Well holy crap!! I didn’t know mini-hums had it in them! And here I was thinking it would require a pickup swap with hotter mini-hums..

The new ones have ceramic pickups, and are very hot. They are really nothing like the sixties Firebird pickups. If you want THAT sound, you have to swap the pickups. The new ones don't do it.
