Did anyone stock up on tubes/valves

Ray I have 50 NOS 6V6 they are not for public consumption. I can get a quad of 5881 if that will work for you.
I'm hurting on the EL84 I have 4 amps that use them and a bunch of customers that use them.

Thanks 67P! I have a backup quad of 6L6, so I am good for, maybe forever based on my play time. However, I figure if there was a compatible useless surplus like I have, the world would turn better. I would like to stick with 6L6 though

I don't have any extras other than one set of replacements for each of my amps as far as EL84 goes. No 6L6 spares.

But, I'm always open to swapping cash for a set of 6V6s. I could use a spare set for my Deluxe Reverb.

Yeah, I've given some stuff away over the past few years as people need it. Ever since the hoarder mentality kicked in a while back, I don't think I'll see much for repayment.

At the time though, who knew? I'm not in a position anymore where I need to have extras of everything. It's nice to have them to fall back on. If I need to, I'll just use a different amp.

Ironically, i have to buy some tubes very very soon for an amp lol but its really still easy to get what i need: 2 EL34s and 4 ECC83s.

With the embargos, screw it: I will just dodge anything Russian in compliance. There are still plenty of options out there from Slovakia, Czech Republic and China. Not to mention, plenty of NOS tubes floating around from the glory days of US, UK and German productions

I did typically enjoy Svetlana and Genalex tubes, but to hell with it: JJ or Shuguang can work just as well. Im not a purist anyways and can conjure a sound with whatever

Never gave it a second thought, and now here we are.
I better be nice to my three tube amps.:oops:
 
One tube I can't buy out of China is the 6L6GC

I never mark up parts for repairs when I see crappy JJ tubes a quad for over $300.00 now it's just wrong.

The last order I received was from Russia Great Briton Mullards USA RCA but no Russian made product I found that strange.

I've watched their prices go up A LOT since, well, a few days ago (more than doubled in many cases). Other vendors here are out of just about everything & prices have also gone up similarly. I did get a quad of 6CA7's yesterday, but looking now they've gone up again. The AU$1 is only worth US$0.70, but these guys are just gouging cash now. They're still clearing out fast though.
Luckily I got in before this insanity on most of mine, ordering from the US before the rush & price rises too. Pity anyone who hasn't stocked up on tubes yet, they'll soon be SOL for a while it seems. Cheers
