I have been a fan of this style of music for many years, Like it when PBS puts it on their network. Little Anthony and the Imperials, Jay and the Americans and the list goes on.

Will say. Some of it was okay….. some of it just a little too syrupy for me. Sha-Na-Na was fun for sure. But then 50s-60s was more my mom and dad. As I was realizing how much I enjoyed music, I was deep into the mid-late 60s, so that era is really what has defined the genre I grew to love.

I am a Classic Rock Guy #1 . But I do like some diversity in music I listen to , Blues, Dew Wop, What I call Country Rock, Gospel, Pop Rock,

For sure I’m into diversity…. Depending on my mood, my taste runs along some of the same genres as you. I can do country if someone turns it on or the wedding reception band/Dj is playing it. I don’t generally go there on purpose. Gospel… but the caveat on that would be the newer stuff. Think Casting Crowns and the like. Although a good old fashion 4 part church hymn is pretty nice. Classical music from a couple centuries ago. Pop, not so much. I do draw the line at Hip Hop and Rap. Can’t do that. I acknowledge it is a genre. It’s the beauty of music. There’s something for everyone. And it’s okay if I don’t like the exact music you all like and vice versa.

With you, I listen to a vast array of different musical styles but Doo-Wop makes me draw the line. My parents listened to this stuff and Big Band intermittently when I was growing up. I LOVED the Big Band, and still do, but this always sounded like children's music to me.
Big band is good stuff as well.

This was my dad’s favorite. I heard this a 1000 times growing up. I have it on my USB sticks in the cars!

I have a sorta Big Band playlist on my phone. I say sorta since it’s not all legit big band, bands. Glen Miller, Herb Alpert, Doc Severnsen and a little know band… Bob Crewe Generation.

Colin James who is a Rock Blues Player, and very talented, he had a thing for Big Band Music growing up. So some years back he decided to form a Band and do Big Band Music for two years. Then went on tour. I seen him with his band doing this and it was very good. At that time his Band was called Colin James and the Little BiG Band..

I got some Doc S on my USB sticks too. I bought my first VCR in 1979 to record Carson.

Dude can play trumpet!! Which for something different in trumpet players. Check out the group Chase. Early 70s. Only a couple albums I’m aware of. Group came to an end after Bill Chase died in a plane crash. Music would be considered a bit more like jazz rather than big band….. but it’s pretty darn good. And like Doc….. those guys could play trumpet.
