I've sat here trying to figure out what it is that I hate about this and it took me a while to figure it out.
First, i thought it was the headstock but that's just a standard Gibson Hockey Stick like on the Explorer, as well as technically the same design as Jackson, just less sharp. So no, its not that.
Then I thought it was the Tune O Matic Bridge but no, because most Gibson Flying Vs have that same damn bridge, save maybe the vibrola and V string thru plate. So again, it isnt that.
Then I figured it was the control layout. While its a setup I've never seen really before, its kind of an augmented Explorer 3 knob layout with the switch between the Neck Volume and Tone. So, kinda this?
But I finally figured out what it is that I despise: they tried incorporating elements of Jackson and Dean into a Gibson. The rounded wings are Gibson, the hockey stick on a V is inspired by Jackson and the inlay is a lot like the Dean.
This thing is a Frankenstein: not cool like EVH's Frankenstein, more like Frankenstein's festered, swollen anus.
Send it to the Firebird X graveyard, under the excavator tracks.
