DAMN GIBSON! DAMN BIDDLIN!

I have come to the conclusion that Sir Biddlin is a mole...a "backhander", if you will (new vocabulary word taught to us by @DonP)...planted here by Gibson to conduct espionage. He receives generous sums of pounds in brown envelopes passed under the table in a pub, for delivering to Gibson increased sales, and providing precious Tone Room secrets. Some have anonymously claimed that he receives his instructions from Gibson in cryptic messages hidden inside hollowed nickels.

-- sorry for them ---- but wait 10 years--- that resale will jump on the ones that arent ripped apart ;)

Hmmmm...I wonder.

I was looking at my receipts last night. I paid $649.98 for a 2003 Gibson SG (Serial #03023435) on June 27, 2004 and I bought my second SG on September 25, 2016 (Serial 160112913) for $739.00....What's a 2003 SG Faded worth today???

-I literally just shot GUINNESS out of my nose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (ouch) DAMN YOU GM ---now I have to clean up this black booger mess

Congrats on the blind buy Gibson.
I hope it continues to please you, even after the honeymoon stage.
Sounds like you feel the same way I do about my SG Standard P90...it's perfect to me....I can't imagine entertaining the idea of changing anything on it. I feel the same way about my lowly LP faded mahogany studio...it does exactly what it's supposed to do...kicks ass.
Best of luck!

Congrats on that nice looking LP Junior. Amazing deal, and I like the case, too. I'm sure those Tronicals work fine, and keep you in tune all the time, but I have to be honest that to me, they look like one of them ankle bracelets for when the law is keeping close tabs on you...

I've had three guitars with those robo tuners and they worked fine on them all...I just couldn't stand the look of them and string changes were not simple.
I removed and sold them all and put locking tuners on all the guitars...

Well---I am gonna stick it out with them......
A. Id like this to stay bone stock
B. I change strings about as often as Goldmember changes underwear
c. ---ugh oh---- have I ---become a "cork Sniffer"? I mean low end bargain basement cork --- like Riunite cork but still.......... the horror.....

Congrats!
That is truly a great deal despite all the 2015 bashing. Ditto on getting the titanium zero nut.
i know you cant play fat necks with the hand or wrist pain; those I hear are slim but wide.
From what I saw they are fret over binding - nibs dont appeal to me but only from what i read on the internet.
Give the robotuners a chance; my first reaction is to chuck em but I would give it a chance.
I saw those. They have or had SG and Double Cuts for a bit more. Good thing they didnt have the yellow ones.
I couldnt go the 5 Franklins but it saved me some crying for mommy fetal position time.

Despite the name snobbery, I would like to own a Gibson at the right place and time at some point.
Not the low end ones they put out recently though.

Hope it ends up a keeper for the King of Flippers.
Cheers Adrian, I toast my can of cheap beer to you!!

It is on the "keeper wall" for sure.

You know the damn problem with this buy flip for better---trade for better sell buy flip for better system....eventually you wind up with a bunch of stuff you REALLY like......and dont want to sell -------my "short list" keeps getting SHORTER!

THIS...is a BIG Problem....

Not quite---- this is cork but in a brown bag---- lol
---the features and build quality are right up there--- this guitar was a grand new in 2015 --- the "purists" pooped on it--- drove down the value and sales--- now -- its a SCORE for those willing to let time and ignorance wear off the depreciation -----

mark my words, rubes on "virtual smell o vision reverb 2.0" in 2035 will pay through the nose for stock versions of the "rare" 2015 Jr.

---anyone remember what a 58 Jr cost in '58???????--- I guarantee it wasn't 12K

Gibson Les Paul Junior TV Yellow 1958

the Grandkids will get free snickers bars outta this one----- or a shoe lace---you know--inflation and all.......

I'm getting to the place where I have a variety of guitar types - no duplicates but examples of different types that are all good players: strat, tele, LP, Sg, Jaguar, etc.
I would like to have a Firebird, Explorer and V, Gretch, Dano, Moserite and on and on. But I'm coming to the point where I have most covered and am focusing more on playing and really getting to know my amps, pedals and combinations, etc.

I have an empty spot I hope to fills soon and have a deal in the works for a semi hollow. I focus on keepers, and though I am a hoarder I just want to make my stable a variety of keeper players.
