Cutting Back:

Sorry about your MIL’s passing, condolences to your family. I can understand about getting out of CA. Without getting into politics, this is a very high cost of living state. Some of the highest taxes in the country, hell we even tax cow farts, no kidding.

Exactly my wife's point. A $500,000 house here is around $150,000 in some other states we have visited, not to mention her retirement will go further.

Wow, I feel so good today!!!

I always leave work early on rehearsal days, so I was able to take my little family for a walk (with the dog) and shower and get in the bed by 5pm. I slept until 9pm, got up for a while, watched TV with my wife, then back to bed about 11pm and up this morning about 6am.

My wife has maintained for years that she wants out of California. The recent death of her Mom (on New Years' Day) really had an accelerating effect on the proposition.

The pandemic really is secondary to that event too...

Awwwwwwww, Prayers for the missus and the whole family re: her mom passing. Was she living in Nicaragua or wherever you said her roots are when she passed??
I am guessing if your wife is around our age that she must have been mid 70's or so?

Anyhow, I sure do wish you much happiness wherever life in this world takes you and the family.

Yes,

Her Mom was still living in Nicaragua. We had last visited her in March/April of 2019.

As previously mentioned, this move has to be at least 1.5 years out, but I need to start planning for the changes now and not wait until the last minute...

I can't help but think that's not the best advice for Robert (I say that respectfully). :strat:

Best of luck, Robert - it'll all work out. Have you fixed that Les Paul yet? :)

Here's today's project...

@SG John was kind enough to send me this guitars' original jackplate and rear cover plate so everything fits really good and no new holes need to be drilled...

None of my jackplates would fit the rout on this guitar body, because the shape of the punched-in section of the plates I had on hand (imports) were larger and kept the plate from resting on the body.

The original Fender jackplate fits perfectly and even the mounting angle of the input jack is different from all the import jackplates I have.

Thanks, John!!!!
