Gary, I can't help but be befuddled that the 2 of us grew up what was likely no farther than 30 miles apart and yet in so many ways we were walking in unison without even knowing it. Another phenomenon that I can only appreciate now, is something I attribute to the powers of the Rock n Roll gods. I can almost invariably recall 95% of the people responsible for turning me on to my initial exposures to seminal bands in my life, in my record collection and in my experiencing the greatest examples of each artists catalogue.

MY exposure to the Beatles came from the older sister of my childhood best friend who's family was from NZ then moved to Australia
I believe Physical Graffiti was my Christmas present from my younger sister.
Another Gem and my favorite,priceless nugget came from her as well another Christmas. To me, Next to my 2112, there will never be a better Clapton sound than Wheels of Fire and of course Disraeli Gears.

Our singer flaked one night...we needed to do Immigrant Song, but I can't sing as high as our vocalist, so I dropped the vocals down to something more "Lemmy-esque" and it was surprisingly well received!!!!

Robert, I know you are the guitar playing equivalent to the Swiss army knife combined with Lazerlike focus in your ears and fingers. BUt I also read you mention drums. Do yourself a favor and give this a listen with headphones and check out Bonham's drumming here. Pure POWER but with groove unlike anyone before or since. Something about that 26 inch kick drum, his footwork and just his timing and feel to drive the rest of the band is what I notice most.

My first Zep album was II. Been a Zep fan ever since. Just some noodling..

 
Ordered my 80watt Jensen Jet Neodymium Tornado Stealth yesterday from Brad Woodbury at Amplified Parts in Tempe, Arizona yesterday...shipped out regular UPS Ground.

Just got a notification that its on the truck for delivery today.... :-)
