At the ETSG forum, Gahr posted some pics and info of his SGs modified with the wide beveled pickguards made by CreamTone. So of course, I had to have one. But my 50th Anniversary Pete Townshend SG is kind of an oddball. Therefore, CreamTone had to build me a one-off custom, which also reflected the final price.
At first, I was surprised in the roughness of the beveled edges. Especially the straight edges at the left of the guard. Maybe this is normal with wide beveling? I was able to smooth the edges a bit by using different grits of a cloth-type abrasive like the 3M Flexible Polishing Papers that you can get at StewMac.
Overall, I'm pretty happy with the looks. Makes this SG Special even more Special...
