I'm sorry, but with 22 studio albums, and at least five Hawkwind albums Lemmy helped write, there would be at least one other bloody Motὂrhead song someone would cover. Even though I'm a huge fan and have travelled to see them in many places, I am so bloody sick of Ace of Spades covers. How about Overkill, Love Me Like a Reptile, Orgasmatron, Stay Clean, Bomber, Iron Fist, Don't Need Religion, 1916, Going to Brazil, or any other of a hundred plus songs?

I can understand....it's just one of my favorites.

We covered "Killed By Death" and "Hellraiser. " I'm looking for those...

Ace Of Spades was always the most requested in the clubs.

Intro played on Les Paul.

Heavy, distorted rhythm played on the 12 string side of my custom double neck.

Solo played on the six string side of my double neck.

I tried to get the rest of the factory staff to do “Killed By Death”…but they threatened to go on strike….
”Bomber” would be wicked fun!!!
…so would “Stay Clean”!

I always played Iron Fist, No Voices In The Sky, The Chase Is Better Than The Catch, JailBait and Over the Top. But thats just me lol

Might do a cheapass cover of one of these tomorrow, just for levity

I love this one and I listened to this several times in a row today. Also got thru the first few tracks on the album before I had to dip out. Sehr gut!

Thanks Dan. When we recorded it, it was a “throw away” to check all the mics and whatnot. We were recording live in a studio that was an old speakeasy where George Thorogood recorded his first record for Rounder.

We ended up nailing everything first take, and moved on. When we started on all the vocals, the engineer suggested we finish that song since it was already committed to one of the reels of tape and there were plenty of empty tracks. So, we finished it and put it on the shelf for later.

Some people have said we did a better live version of that song than Swervedriver. One of them being Erick, the former owner of Sir Morgan’s Cove in Worcester. He’s a huge Swervedriver fan, and I was blown away by his assessment.

Very cool man. I never really digged into Swervedriver back then, but I do remember liking their videos whenever I saw them on 120 minutes back in the day. Same thing with Dinosaur Jr., Meat Puppets, Sunny Day, etc. I don't know what I was thinking back then but I love these bands now.

I met Adam Franklin after a Toshak Highway show in Boston. He signed my copy of Raise. I gave him a CDR with our version of “Mustang Ford”, and told him we sometimes play it live. We recorded it for the heck of it, but never did anything with it. He was surprised and said we were only one of two bands he knew of that covered any Swervedriver songs. The other being in Poland. Would love to know if he ever listened to it, and what he thought of it.

Good morning, afternoon or evening, depending on where you are! I had been considering posting this one for quite some time, so now that the thread is open, I'm jumping in with a semi-cover... maybe more like a guitareoke attempt.

But first, a quick background story: last year while surfing UG.com, I came across a link to a website that sadly is no more, but which contained a wealth of backing tracks from original songs minus the LG, RG, Bass tracks or all of the above. Many of said backing tracks were not of the best quality, but there were quite a few impeccable ones. Including the one I present today to you as my humble offering for your consideration. Yes, Hair Metal at its finest (and poppest)...

Now for the tech notes: ALL guitar parts except the talk box guitar, are played by yours truly, including the one on the Right channel shadowing the original talk box part. Recorded using Reaper and my Black Epi LP (Liv) that you all know by now. Rough guitar / base track level mix, still need to redo some and tweak the compression. Uploading on MP3, let's hope it goes through.

OK, let's hear your thoughts!
