Counterfeit Guitars seized

HAHA I am sure there are some members in here who like many different styles of music, but also some who are fairly narrow in scope as to what they play or listen to.

I certainly do not fit into that second category. As one can tell from my posts about Mountain people's music, my recent banjo purchase, my hundreds of YT clips of bands ranging from Hippy music, to Johnny Cash, to Roy Clark, Mountain, Sepultura to Elvis Costello, to Bach, Marvin Gaye etc. etc, I truly enjoy all types and then again, I dislike some within those same choices.

I will digress and yet because the Stones came up in discussing Disco,

Some songs on Emotional Rescue really show off the range of the Stones members playing. So many layers in sound across the whole catalogue of Stones Albums.

These 2 songs likely never saw any airplay, but man do they grab you. And yet if my memory serves me right, the Stones got negative press from this album when it came out.

I circle back a little to the counterfeit guitars as it somewhat disturbs me to read the one headline that reads
Customs agents seize $158k worth of counterfeit guitars, including fake Gibsons, Fenders and Martins, at Washington DC airport

That is not entirely TRUE the way I see it. I feel like too much creative liberty is taken in today's Sensationalize things for viewership tactics.

This is misleading. The customs agents actually seized Counterfeit guitars with a potential value of $158K+ and the Headline should reflect this properly.

Leave it to me to make multiple points all in one thread and still tie em all together HAHA.

I like both Disco and Punk and.....SOME counterfeits. There I said it.

Man, i got to tell you i wouldn't walk around the corner to see those Devo guys...

I didn’t pay to see them. They were an act at this big outdoor event called The Taste of Newport. There are 50 to 100 booths from local restaurants and merchants selling and tasting. It’s a 3 day event and these guy were the entertainment one of those days. They wore the flower pots (?) on their heads doing whip it.

It's going to be very difficult to spot fakes...the fakes are becoming more sophisticated.

Am I the only one who sees the irony of a thread starting about seized counterfeits intended to defraud individuals and larceny, move on to the defense of having said counterfeits, then go on about what weapons are owned to defend against larceny? You people have issues.

I love punk, also like disco. At least Robin and Barry Gibb played their own instruments. Since funk was going out of fashion, all those musicians had to grab other gigs, so disco it was. Love many other genres too, except maybe whatever Lawrence Welk gets put into.
