First of all, this is in no way considered to be an insult to Pink Floyd Fans or the esteemed Mr. Gilmour himself.

This is a One-Take Improv Over a Backing Track of Pink Floyd's 'Comfortably Numb.' Guitar is my Les Paul Replica with Planet Tone Afterburner Bridge and Planet Tone Special 59 Neck. I Switch Through All 21 Tones (From The Jimmy Page Wire Harness) During The Solo, So Some Passages Are Repeated For Comparison. Direct Out via Blackstar ID-Core 100. No FX Used Except Overdrive and Delay.

You can hear me switching between the selector switch and pulling up and pushing down the pots. As a result, there were some errors and no post-recording editing was performed.

'Easter Egg Alert.'

Can you find the Randy Rhoads 'signature lick' and call it out by it's time slot???

If you have trouble finding it, I can tell you what famous Ozzy song the lick is from....

Gilmour is not only one of our favorite players, but also an outstanding humanitarian.
An inspiration to us all.

Outstanding playing there Robert !

In comparison, the Gibson 498T is about 14k Alnico V whereas the Planet Tone Afterburner is 13.2k AlNico V, but even played on just the bridge with zero FX, the Afterburner is fuller, rounder with less output and no pronounced mid-range hump

Now, of course, on this recording, i am frequently switching on both the 13.2k/43awg/A5 Afterburner and the 8.2k/42awg/A2 Special 59 on simultaneously, so while there are phrases in the solo where I am running on just the Planet Tone Afterburner, I am not running it for very long.

I think (not even close to being 100% sure) I heard some RR around the 4:10ish mark. The cadence of the song and the tone would suggest something in the likes of Mr. Crowley but I might be wrong. Most probably am.

Great Ear!!!!!

3:40 - 3:46 I play the intro phrase to the first solo of Mr. Crowley
