Just fired up this little beauty for the first time in about 3 years and I always forget how good it sounds. I think for the little it cost, I've had more enjoyment from this amp than any other. Not to mention it's how I got to know a few of the guys on here. I think it might be a keeper :ROFLMAO:

I was looking for the pic. :rolf:

Yep, I met Kev in the Class 5 thread on the Marshall forum back in 2010. We've been friends ever since!

I had 2 C5s at one time, a black one and a white one. I've since sold both of them, not because I don't think they're awesome little amps, it's because I learned since then that I can't use el84s, there's something in the sound of el84s (a high frequency thing that can't be eqed out) that the tinnitus in my ears can't take. Most can't hear it, I'm one of the lucky few that can.

I suffer from that too, and can't "do" an EL84. That is why I switched over to the 6CM6, which is a 9 pin 6V6

As an experiment I built a EL84 powered amp with Radio Spairs clone transformers channel one Vox AC-15 EF86
channel two Marshall the Marshall channel sounds fair at best the Vox channel blows it away what a waste of 12AX7'S
