Twas rather chilly today to clear driveway of snow with snowblower.
That said, only wore 1 big winter coat and it was drenched in sweat back and front and my hair. Maybe need to wear the next one down, strangely!! Seems unreal but the sweat was worse than cold. Turned coat inside out to let it dry.
Was windchill -44 this aft
Crazy hey

What kind of house insulation do you guys have? We basically have R19 and R30. I put R38 under the flooring in the basement.

I tell you nothing. House built in 2008 and has extra thick walls. Past that no clue. I don't build em I just buy em. Sorry lads.
Wife seems to have a bit more of a clue.

Goo the hills and scenery are lovely ---- 9 .......... really 9 (F*** NO!) but I appreciate the pictures and I will look at them while standing in the freezer --- and think of you -- ;)
we had upper 70's yesterday
It will be 79 again today
I hear lake Tahoe got near 9 FEET OF SNOW .......

and ya'll wonder "WHY/HOW DO YOU PEOPLE IN FLORIDA DEAL WITH HURRICANES ?"------ well today ya know ---- ya'll have fun up there ;)

I thought we had it bad. Was 18* here yesterday when I was clearing our driveway with a windchill of 6*. And, of course, our Snow Blower won’t stay running so I have to decide to get it repaired or just buy a new one.

England would be dead with that kind of temp 100x over and 100x more….

Have a cup of tea mate lol

Yes, us northerners are bundling up! Phone app said -53C with windchill yesterday. I only stepped outside once for a few armloads of firewood, but only had a light jacket on.
For a minute or two, no big deal.

This morning... a balmy -37C no wind. I'll be walking 7 blocks round trip to the post office in a few minutes to mail one. Not bothering to plug in the car for four hours for that small drive.

I do get a cool frost buildup in the beard though! And the glasses fog up real good.

This kind of weather does have advantages. Kills a lot of pests and germs. Crime nonexistent. Panhandlers too. No door to door sales either. Not worried about heat stroke, but on the other hand frostbite can be ugly.
Seen it, never suffered it.

Good luck you guys...I literally do not even have our heater connected to the thermostat. I could not live with it below maybe 50F.

Just a light dusting here. Expecting 2ft tomorrow and will breakout the blower.
