Chibson Firebird

I keep digital undressing the Zeros with my eyes........I can say IF I where to buy another Gibson--- other than the Les Paul Recording Guitars of Legend---it would be a Zero---- that thing REALLY AMAZED me at Guitar Center

Snark post with fangs:

I am totally opposed to fake anything. The concept of a guitar that says Gibson on it
but was not made by Gibson is simply a lie. Something to be ashamed of. So I don't
understand this thread, and I don't understand why no one else has mentioned any
opposition to Chinese fake Gibsons. Or fake Fenders or fake cheap knock offs of
any fine thing.

To me it's totally bizarre to read forum posts by people who act as if it was okay to buy
and sell fake Gibsons. As if it was just as good as some other guitar. There are so many
excellent guitars for sale that are no more and no less than they seem. Why this?

Buying and selling fake Gibsons is just wrong. It's something embarrassing, to be done
in dark alleys by criminals and swindlers. That's the way I feel about it anyway.
I'll click off this thread and not return, so you can justify it all you want, and it will
still be wrong.

There are so many better guitars to be bought and sold, and owned with pride and
played with flair. There is no excuse for putting the Gibson name on a false product.
It's nothing to be proud of.

When I commented on this thread, it was not pertinent to the poorly faked Gibson. But since you bring it up... I too dislike "fakes". I have no problem with copies that carry their own unique names. I have a few, but only my Gibsons say "Gibson", and that's the way I prefer it. The Firebird copy in this thread is easily fixed with a change to the trussrod cover(by the looks of it), and the Gibson name isn't inlayed in to the headstock. So if the owner was to ditch the trussrod cover, this guitar would just become another anonymous copy...since it has a few GLARING differences from the genuine original Firebird, I wouldn't see any real problem.

The subject guitar has zero walnut stringers that are a signature of the original neck through design, and are visible on all of the real ones finished in this style.
If I had this guitar, I would make a "Firechicken" trussrod cover, and call it done.

I guess what I'm saying is that if the trussrod cover didn't say "Gibson" it would be no different than one of these...

Agreed you Bastard. TBTH if the neck where thinner.....this thing would be hanging on my wall happily.
