CHain chain chain--------

SO-- I have built up a RIGHTEOUS PEDAL BOARD of a WHOPPING 3 pedals----
Behringer Comp/Sustain
EH HOLY MOTHER OF G** Grail Reverb
Joyos Satan in a box Ultimate Drive---

so-- IF I wish to run these into the clean channel of the Mesa-- I am methodically destroying with subpar tubes----

what order???

I mean -- do I REVERBERATE the signal fdirst then compress it---
COmpress it distort it THEN echo it---
OVEDRIVE IT then COmpress and reverb ---
???????????????????????????

Its all very corn fusing

does it matter-- will it effect the tone--

will it make aliens land at the Mall?

can I get a side of fries with that?

Will any sales men call?

must I act now?

Does the Mesa have an effect chain/loop? If so, run your comp first, then drive into the front end (preamp). Connect the reverb into the efx loop.
Thou shalt dig thine combination. The reverb would not even need to reside on your pedal board.

For the ultimate eSGEe board, I think a Polytune pedal would be first, then the comp, then the drive running straight the front of the Mesa.

I’d compress>distort>echo>Mesa-it.

Matter? Well, echo= last pedal before amp. Or better in the loop.

The aliens are already among us.

Fries? Nope...the aliens don’t like that trans fat in their diet.

Salesmen? Yes. None human though. Caution.

Act now? Yes! Clips!

I can dig it. I've never used an attenuator, so I can't describe how it would affect the reverb in the loop. However, if you are running clean, and
only using a pedal for overdrive, then the reverb could go at the end of your chain. I do this with a small Fender amp that does not have spring
reverb onboard. If overdriving the signal with the Mesa, I'd say that the reverb would need to be placed before the attenuator in the loop. :)

Wasnt sure if I should post the update here or in the COmpression depression thread-- oh well -- its here now------

I would like to state for the record you PEDAL guys--- are just NUTS---

I have spent (minus a walmart run and a few small tasks) the better part of a day digging out and untangling cords--
fidning proper power supplies-- setting up this "board" ---
and DIALING IT ALL IN ---
(for consistency & comparison purposes I am using the MESA clean channel at least until it spontaneously combusts )---

I digress--- DIALING IT IN to a TONE I like -----I found this tone after several hours---- with this rig
Behringer Compressor/sustainer
JOYO Ultimate Drive
Holy Grail Reverb
pedal board 3.0.jpg

Now---- after all that time -- and effort I have roughly 1000.00 worth of amp/pedals running to create my "preferd" tone that I am just enjoying the SHITE out of -- till I realize...........something -- is VERY VERY VERY wrong

-- I spent a FOOL day -- setting this system up-- and creating a tone ---- a tone which I LOVE very much ----but --------

I took the yellow input cable out of the mesa-- shut off all the pedals..........plugged this yellow demon straight into the 45.00 used 30 year old Marshall Valvestate sitting beside it and..................

ITS THE SAME FOOGIN TONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GUITAR -> COMPRESSOR -> OVERDRIVE -> AMP INPUT

You know, there is that 'sound in your head' thing sometimes....

Yesterday I spent some time fooling with my DSL40C, and after a while of fiddling, I plugged in the 1997 Marshall Valvestate VS265 2X12 Stereo Chorus Combo.

Noisy even on standby, this thing just has the best overall tone. It totally nails 'Breaking The Chains' and 'Round And Round' without any effects. The tone is so thick that you can feel the speaker movement, but it has this insane, 'Chain Saw' edge that cuts through.

My DSL40C sounds like an AM radio in comparison.
