Ceramic 8 Pickups:

I'm short on pickup facts. I've played pickups with many different types of magnets with pickups I like and dislike within each magnet type. The only thing I know for sure is I seem to really like the older lower output Gibson pups and the Fender vintage pups. I do like Carving pups, which to me kind of fall in between the Gibson and Fender pups. Oh, and I prefer Gibson P90's over any other P90 I've heard or played.

Good pickups...no doubt the Gibson's are, but I need more output so I am shopping...

Much maligned and hated Stealth Bird of Winged DEATH---METAL that is-- these things are HOT -- and crunchy and they surely DJENT!

I’m just saying some of the past(2000s to early teens era) Gibson Flying V guitars came with a 496r/500t chrome covered set. Since I got my V as a husk, I didn’t get to see the original conductor wiring...mine wouldn’t have been covered anyway. The standards were the ones with that set under chrome covers.(now they’re using burst buckers in the 2018s) Gibson stock pickups are often two conductor, even though their aftermarket versions are four conductor(saves money probably)
Noted in this chart for example:

That reverb listing doesn’t specify where the set came from....but advertises them as a 498r/500t set. Could be 490/498 for all I know.

Edit:the dc readings in the linked Reverb set for sale fall in to the range of a 496r/500t set of stock Gibson pickups.

Good point...I guess I am super skeptical of used pickups...could be a factory set as the Angus Youngs have 2 conductor when factory installed but available only in 4 conductor over the counter...
