On a more serious note:
At least here there seems to be two camps when it comes to CCR. Those who love them (like me) and those who can't really take them at all. Regarding the second group, I think a lot of it has to do with where CCR was played for many years. In the late '80s and '90s, their music was typically played in bars where country music was played a lot. And country music tends to be frowned upon by a lot of people here. So CCR has had a sort of stigma attached to them because of that. These days that have become rather popular again.
I discovered Creecence when I was in middle school. We were doing a week of work experience, and I was working as a sideman for a truck driver. He used to listen to CCR and Ian Hunter all the time. I had bought my first electric guitar just a week or two before this. The first guitar solo I ever learned was the one in "Up Around the Bend".
