Cataract Surgery Tomorrow

Things went a lot better than last week. My doc has done over 20,000 of these and his rep is well deserved. I was telling @CoyotesGator the other night that I have to wear these eye shields when I sleep for two weeks. So with both eyes covered I'm praying I don't need the john in the middle of the night. Might not have good aim. :facepalm:

I'm almost 2 weeks out from my first surgery and 1 week from my second. Feels very weird to not need glasses anymore. No kidding. When they tested me last Wednesday it came back as 20/20. And that was just a day after my second surgery. The first eye feels normal and the second still feels a little scratchy. The only downside so far is the brightness I'm seeing. My wife has been dayblind almost all our lives together so our homes have always been adapted to almost total darkness for her. My vision is so sensitive to light right now, in some areas of our house, like the mancave, etc, I have to wear sunglasses in order to see. My workbench area is so blindingly bright right now I couldn't work on anything if I tried. I really hope this a passing phase of the surgery. I'll certainly be bringing it up at my next appointment on Tuesday.

Looked light sensitivity up. Found this. Betting you’ll be good to go after a few weeks.

“This is not a complication of cataract surgery. The light sensitivity settles down in a few weeks during the recovery period after cataract surgery as the brain adapts to the new normal level of light intensity.Feb 24, 2021”
