Cataract Surgery Tomorrow

I've been noticing a marked decrease in my vision after my bouts with Covid. A visit to my ophthalmologist confirmed I have cataracts in both eyes. A 6 on a 10 scale. Not good. So I'm scheduled for the first surgery tomorrow morning on my right eye at 6:45 a.m. He will do the left eye one week later. I've talked to a bunch of people who have had the procedure and all say that it's a snap, with a good outcome. Doesn't chase away the image I have of someone slicing your eyeball. I made the mistake of watching a YouTube video of the procedure. Yikes. Wish me luck.
 
My Dad had it done years ago and my sister in law just had it done last year. They both say it's nothing. I would feel the same way you do if I had to have it done, but I do believe that there really is nothing to worry about based on what they've said about it.

I'm sure it's easier than having a knee or 2 replaced. ;)

Good luck.
The down side to this procedure is now you can actually see how ugly I really am in my videos and curse the day you got your sight back.

Hey Geoff. Blurry, and the dilating drops haven't worn off yet. I had a problem with the surgery centers policy of not giving anyone any type of anesthesia if they aren't accompanied by someone. They numbed the eye as best they could, but to not even have any Valium or even the mild sedation made for an unpleasant experience. And I have to go through it again in 7 days for the other eye.

Yikes that is not right.
I'd give ya a lift if I could. Get some painkillers in amd see how it uh, looks? in a day...

I totally get your apprehension. I wouldn't want sharp objects near my eyes, either.

(Didn't our mothers warn us...something about scissors and putting our eyes out?)

But, to reassure you, my wife has had both eyes done and she's much better than before. No issues.
