Car Batteries are dying on me MAN!

Our soon-to-be Daughter's car battery died about two weeks ago. We haven't really dealt with it yet since she doesn't drive it yet. However, a few days ago, my wife's car gave me some pause when I started it up. Seemed to be a really weak battery but the car started. After that, it worked fine, until yesterday.

We were out and about and stopped at a store. When we came back out, the battery was back to being dead again. So, two batteries in two weeks, seems weird to me. I blamed my daughter since she was with me. She suckin' the life out my batteries man!

20/25.00 on amazon ....... saves me a TON of headaches and does extend battery life on those ones -- I use the gator clips to the battery -- ive heard the "cigarettes' charge" option ....... can create some "issues" in modern electronic computerized -- overly sensored vehicles ........

I find new batteries are made to be garbage, it's a hell I deal with on my trucks, if I don't start them every couple days....dead! No matter brand either. Right now I have 3 brand new Napa batteries in them and still the same thing......

Might wanna check your alternator man. If its not producing a bare minimum of 13v ( usually 14.5v) when running, its not gonna keep the battery charged. This is normally one of bigger problems that gets overlooked and they do go bad a lot anymore, especially if its got some years and is original

Yeah I have had them tested, no issues, it's literally the batteries. If it stays above 50+ degrees it's not that bad but we get winters here as you know. It's been low of 30's all week so I had to jump one, one barely started and no issues with the one I drive every day.

When i had my Nova, i was informed to make sure the cold cranking amps was at least double the cubic inches of the engine. It was a 327 so that meant at least 654 cold crank amps and so i went 100 over that to 750. It would fire it up every time where the 650A was 50/50 pending on temperature.

But yeah if you can find a gel battery, they hold up better than lead acid core too ( lead acid is the most common) but they are way less cost effective

I’ve never had a battery do a slow death so I have warning. My luck has been working fine this moment. Thirty minutes later. Get in car. DEAD. Basically. Dead short in battery. And when that happens. No amount of charging will fix it.

Thats usually my result as well to. Best part is when it comes without warning and you leave work to head home, dead in a parking lot lol

If you have a vehicle that isn't driven regularly invest in a Battery Tender. The computer in your car (or motorcycle) will kill a battery in a few weeks. If a battery loses its charge it will freeze if the temp drops much below freezing and then it's over.

Ive only got 52K on my 2007 Crossfire Roadster. Just had to replace the battery about 18 mos ago.
  52k ?!?! I travel that (actually more) annually ................how the HELL?!?!
My new work truck had 4000+ miles the first 3 weeks ..... that was just WORK MILES -- then I drive my car (70k) the wifes van (195k) ... MY truck on weekends 250+K) --- the motorcycle--- (almost 40K)

you must have a "daily driver" that isnt the Crossfire

Sounds like someone has an aversion to being home....

Nope, I just make sure I live close to the places I need to go. Which is nowhere for the past couple of years.

This will be me. I bought my car at the very end of 2015 and to date it has 23,000 miles on it. But those were racked up when I commuted to work every day and now that I live downtown and walk everywhere I barely even see my car. I have been going between 3 and 4 weeks without driving, which is glorious, and when I do drive I am only putting 10 to 15 miles on the car.

Im on the GO --- always --
I like HOME -- but---
opium den spelunking
craigslist travels
work
sales
installs
take me OUT and about
factor in the Misses doesnt drive or leave the house much at all so all "acquisitions" for the property-- (store runs-- feed mill runs-- dead hooker runs--)
I drive to get all sales from the property as well I drive to deliver -- trees...eggs.... mulberries... puppies.... kids (goat ones not human ......hhmmm) chickens etc etc

My second hobby of choice is motorcycling -- -that involves -- GOING -- miles -- on the road -- OUT --
3rd hobby of choice scuba diving -- again cant do that at home---GOING--- OUT
its what I do its what I have always done -- its what my father and grandfathers all did (all traveling sales men) if I am HOME for a full 24 hours .....Im sick ........or dead ...either way I aint HAPPY about it

I did an 11 state long haul fly in to Montana and drive back alone..... for the company to save us $ and retrieve a new exteneded trailer/truck custom piece of equipment....(that Im technically not even LICESNED to OPERATE --- ssshhhhhhh---) ....I DRIVE man ... a LOT -- Im more comfortable at SPEED sitting still makes me nervous, pissy and jumpy and hostile.....

Harder to hit a moving target .........
