I soldered one into my DoubleNeck and it cured the muddy bridge.

On this guitar, I have a pair of new 2 conductor Gibson 490's (Thanks @ChasFred) on the 6 string side. I'm using a 550k volume pot (CTS Pro), a 1mg tone pot with a 0.01uf K40Y cap and a .047uf green chiclet cap soldered in line with the bridge pickup hot lead.
On the 12 string side, I'm using Thro-Bak's SLE-101 MXV PAF Reproductions (8.2k bridge 7.7k neck, long Alnico II magnets) with 550k CTS Pro pots and a 0.0.15uf K40Y tone capacitor.
The jacks are Switchcraft as are the switches.
All high quality parts were used.
The two necks are wired separately so two amps are used for I've performances with an ingenious switching pedal made by @smitty_p .
Pickups are set to 16/64" x 12/64" bass/treble on both necks.
On the 12 string side, I'm using Thro-Bak's SLE-101 MXV PAF Reproductions (8.2k bridge 7.7k neck, long Alnico II magnets) with 550k CTS Pro pots and a 0.0.15uf K40Y tone capacitor.

The 0.47uf cap on the bridge gives such a dynamic effect on the Gibson 490T. It gives a definition to an otherwise sterile pickup that must be heard to be appreciated.

Hey, sysco: so, would the 3 before the J indicate the number of decimal places for the value? How do we determine whether it's micro or pico farads?

The 3 means 3 zero's. 2A473J: 47 plus 3 zero's: 47,000 pico farads: .047uF's

Great tones, Robert! I love how the B/N position tone tightens the highs and gives them a lovely chime. And there's a wonderful clarity of tone in all positions, for bot six and 12-string. Love how you've built and refined that guitar, Sir!

I agree, my friend and I love the middle position on this so much. The effect of that 0.047uf tone cap (in series) really gives it such a unique tone!!!
Is your series cap installed between the pickup and tone control or after the tone control?

As I was reading about this, did you notice any effect on the tone control? Some folks said, when installed this way, it could effect the tone control circuit.
