Can a Guitar Speak Somehow???

I been thinking about my Doublneck experience and I wanted to open this up to discussion

This double neck came into my life like no other guitar ever has. No buzzing, no shielding or pickup issues, no action or intonation issues...just sheer enjoyment. Its a bear to play standing for long periods, but any guitar over 10 pounds with be. However, I have never woke up early just to play a guitar....and I never missed one while I was away.

I can't explain it. Am I drawn to it because its unusual??? Or because I designed it???

But, I've designed other guitars with my name on them and I feel nothing for them.

The unplugged loudness....the unusual sustain....the tuning and note bending stability.

What is this phenomenon????

I've owned many guitars, including older Gibson's and none have had this effect on me.

Thoughts????

Don’t know if they speak to me. But I started with an acoustic I bought in 1974. I still have it. Since then I’ve picked up a few electric. Totally enjoy playing them. After a bit of a hiatus I’ll get the itch to play my acoustic. Take it out of the case. Make sure it’s tuned. Start playing. Every time my first thought is.... ahhhhhh. I’ve come home.

You are very particular. I think you just found a guitar that rings all your bells...finally!

I think they do "speak" in a way---- several of mine speak to me---call to me ---ASK, nay BEG to be played....when I play them ---they speak.....there ya go ---the ones that have no voice ---no FEEL no "draw" ---get sold off :)

I have an SG that speaks to me. I buy, sell, and trade a lot of guitars. I have never even considered moving this SG. I took it to a luthier to see if he could do anything to the neck. It is perfectly fine as it is but the truss rod is completely slacked off. I was worried that the guitar may become unplayable if I need more adjustment. The luthier was an hour drive away and I had to leave it there for a week. I couldn’t take being without it and after four days I phoned him to see if there was any way I could pick it up that afternoon. He laughed and said yes. The neck was totally stable. The guitar is 26 years old. He said as long as I treated it right it should be fine. The guitar has never left me since. When I’m away it is the first guitar I play when I get home. If I’m struggling with a song it’s the guitar I go to. It speaks to me.

The first things my guitars usually say is "Dismantle me! Fix me!" After I am done with that, they all are infused with a certain personality. Just call me the "Guitar Gepetto" (which I like so much that I just bought the website guitargepetto.com. Then I noticed that there is a "Gepetto Guitars". I like mine better).

Does your nose grow if you say "I like non-adjustable dog ear P-90's?"
