Cakewalk (DAW) by BandLab

I've been working with it about a year, if I can anyone can!

Make sure you make use of their forums, very knowledgeable people, also if I can be of any help just ask.

I don't want to volunteer anyone, but @Thatbastarddon has been a life saver when I first started, real solid dude.

Have fun, I love that DAW right now, and didn't cost almost $900 like Pro Tools.
I could research more I guess. It was painful because I purchased Sonar and was fully expecting to just use it. Very hard to find jnfo, I coildn't even send an email to cakewalk without signing in and I am no longer able to create an account, their site is essentially dead that way because of Bandlab. I originally used Cakewalk like 20 years ago as my intro into digital recording.
So not a great start to them. Now that it doesnt like my soundcard to be honest I might stick w Reaper. As long as it works well for a simpleton.
To be fair I also have a Zoom R24 multitrack recorder. It can master and works surprisingly well. Add reverb, EQ, etc. Any real singles the bamd does we will do in a studio.

Well I am content on just using Garage Band that came with my Apple computer.
I can't play for :poo: anyway, and doubt anyone wants to hear me play anymore than they are already subjected to .
So recording my lack of talent seems pointless anyway, except for a pastime for me.

I do reading about what everyone else uses, so carry on.

They all share most functions in common it seems, just different names and locations.

Garage Band is pretty cool, if I had that with my computer I'd probably not go elsewhere, it's not like I'm writing The White Album. Lol.

I used to have the BR-900CD.
But I never thought of using it as an interface.
It was the older version of yours (compact flash card!), so it may have not worked.

I have a storage card as well, the manual is where I found about those features.

Now I can take the Boss with me-portable, and then upload field recorded tracks to my DAW.

I've been looking into stand alone interfaces, but this Boss unit has just as good specs. So I figured why spend money that's not necessary?

I just connect the Boss to my computer via USB, downloaded the drivers off the Roland website and viola'.

After researching I have discovered the 900CD would not work as an interface, upload capabilities only.

The newer mini Boss does work as an interface.

If I ever stumble on one of those Boss units for cheap I might get one. I've looked at them before...
