Had an Artec Classic Standard here that did not work. It was given to me by someone a few years back. These are part of Artec's "Milestone Series" designed for them by Gibson's Wolfgang Damm, the father of the P94. Wolfy now runs his own company called Amber Pickups.

This Artec pickup is hand, scatter wound with 42AWG wire, machined pole spacer, maple spacer blocks and a nickel-silver baseplate with a rough-cast, A2 magnet. After pulling it apart, I noticed that these are not potted. I found the ground had come loose on the baseplate. Easy Fix!

When I put it back together, I used a long, polished A4 magnet and swapped the polarity so I could have the out of phase effect in the #2 position of my Yello Strat. It measured 8.1k.

I really have no clue of what I did was "right" since I really only know how to fix solder joints and swap magnets, so my question to you fellows is, how do you think this would stack up against my other guitars???

Congrats on the fix!
I still need to have a look at my PAF Pro that has a very low output.

Well,

Thanks, but I haven't installed it yet. I really wanted to wait until the new Warmoth neck arrives and do some back to back recordings of before and after tone samples...

When I was putting this Artec 'Frankenstein' together, this is kinda what I had in mind:
