Buffer in Amp FX Loop (Kleinulator/C-Lator/D-Lator)

So,

I just got a Kleinulator FX Loop Buffer as part of my Ceriatone amp purchase. I tried it in the loop and noticed a gain dropoff, but I probably did not spend enough time with the dials and knobs. Anything I read seems to suggest that a buffer in the loop is a must, but I do not notice any huge difference in the A/B clip below. I removed it last night so I can enjoy the natural tone of my new amp, but I do not want to diisregard the potential usefulness of this device. Can someone school me on this? I have also attached the Kleinulator manual.

Thanks for any advice!

I'm waiting for an answer too. I don't know the theory behind this, but I do know that my amps always sound better if there is some kind of buffer in the loop. They also sound better if there is a buffer in front.

I’ve got nothing...after reading the manual.....don’t be afraid to dime most everything, and work your way down from there.
I don’t think it’s meant to sound too different, just better balanced without losing character and clarity...especially when integrating loop/time based(reverb and delay) effects.
Plus?...I don’t know...and alternate place to attenuate, without sacrificing tone?...maybe enhancing it? I do understand that your new amp is an exercise in gain staging...this is another layer...with a buffer.

I think you're right. It doesn't need to be anything fancy at all...the buffer built into Boss pedals does the trick just fine.

I hooked it up again, and with a llittle more understanding and pacience, I got it humming. The best quality, IMHO, is the ability to dial back the send from the pre-amps to the effects. It really cleans things up. I then hit the bright switch on the return to compensate for my gazillion pedals. I recorded a three mic clip using it, which I will now post to my NAD thread for the Ceriatone

gazillion pedals
is this BEFORE or AFTER a BAZZILLION ? :)

can you put a box van in the driveway--- and fill that with shelving--- then load all the pedals known to man (on that given date) in the van ----(original versions only no "clones" ugh) -- and then

It's a cheap copy what you need is to build a Dumbelator OH in 2007 I decided to steal from 67plexi Tony Chad and others for my personal gain Nik..........

What does it do you can dime your amp and cut or boost the signal and the same with your effects
the power transformer is a Triad TR-2 120 input 135-0-135 and 3.2-0-3.2 VAC. output in a real Dumbelator.
