In my humble opinion they are the last great Fender guitar amps. The tolex was blond or brown the harmonic vibrato is thick and lush
a few had reverb. One thing about them Marshall was non extant. Brownface was made from 1959 to 1963
I'm not sure if this is true but the untouched early 1959 to 1961 used Mullard made in England GZ34 and Mullard 12AX7 and JAN black plate 5881 6L6
And the early ones used Triad transformers and Astron capacitors then blue molded capacitors with Woodward-Schmacher transformers.

Look at the massive Triad output transformer on the 1960 The Twin amp.

i dig all fender Black & silver face amps ...we all have our preferences & in the end ,,what music are we making out our amps...i use to go down the original amp route until i found a builder & tech,,,40 years of knowledge..can make any decent amp what ya want it be..

I still have a 1959 5G11 Fender Concert Amp and a 1961 6G11 Fender Vibrolux Amp

I'm getting into Mark Knopfler why I have no clue Mark recorded his first LP with a 1961 Strat and a 1961 Vibrolux amp with a Roland Space Echo

Damn, nice. The brownface Vibrolux & brownface 2x10 Vibroverb that was produced in '63 only are, IMO, some of the best sounding amps ever produced by Fender. I've been wanting to do a Vibroverb build project for a good while, but haven't yet got around to it yet. Maybe when I complete the '67 50 watt Black Flag build that I'm just starting I'll start sourcing parts for a Vibroverb. Cheers
