Wrote my first FORTRAN program in 1973. We used Data General Nova computers in my first real job. We were doing voice recognition 1977, long before Alexa. That’s not me in the pic.

Not suggesting I’m old. But took some programming classes as an adult at the local community college. They were using GW Basic and Pascal as intro to programming classes.

Once upon a time, in a previous life, I could look at the zeros and ones and figure out the number….. some math class I was in…. But truly read. Nope.

Used these in high school for the FORTRAN programming. Marked cards with #2 pencil. Graduated to punched cards in college.

First program I wrote was to take a text string and make the printer print big versions of the character. I had a 12.5 second big block Camaro back then.
