I am still using mine 3 years in now..
I got settings advise from @Inspector #20 , and have it on all the time, with a mxr micro chorus, through the loop on one of the Dsl40c’s.
But I did buy it new !!
Do what @SG John said look for a used one.

I think I bought mine in '94, or near then. I used it up until a couple of years ago when I got my El Capistan. I also have a Keeley modded Ibanez analog delay that is really cool. The DD-3 was my main delay for over twenty years. Ton of fun stuff going on with that pedal.

I was looking at one a few years ago. But for the buck, the Zoom G3 was LESS money and you can have multiple delay times set on different patches with it. Then add in all the other fx! Sounds great to me so it seemed a bargain.
I use a G3 on smaller board and a G3n on the larger.

If it's a more budget friendly option you're after, have you checked out the TC electronic The Prophet? It's like $50 brand new at Sweetwater and seems very good

I will check that out.
Dumb thing is, I'm not a huge fan of delay.
I am a huge fan of Schenker but he uses delay very sparingly along with Reverb and chorus. That's it. Well , wait for it...wait for it wah. He does use it well documented but I think that way to many emphasize the use. Certain songs are way obvious. Lights out but I think some people don't really look at the catalouge or listen very intentionally to his work.
I would never give a young musician a recommendation to use a wah to get Schenkers sound. To me its not the first thing. The Marshall's and the guitar he used at the time (pickups)

Only reason I know who's it is, is I remember seeing it years ago on a post from himself. But Im all but sure it's Michael Schenkers rig
I tried a bunch of different ways to hook things up...but this worked best. Most importantly, the order doesn't cut the tails off the delay signature.
