On March 20, 2003 the invasion of Iraq began. I sat there watching news reports. Suddenly, it occurred to me that the first day of war(s) always begin on sunny and blue sky days. As I sat watching, I penned a few short words. Less than a month later, NBC reporter, David Bloom died while he was embedded with the U.S. Third Infantry due to a deep leg thrombosis.
It wasn't until a year later that I recorded music to go with the short lyrics.
