Blizzard Time!

BlackSG, I think I'm gonna need to hunker in with some of that indica you been talking about....maybe a little Walter White if you will! Actually, don't think I have enough food stocked for an episode like that.

I live on long island were geting 12 to 18 people that live out east will get less

Yea, east is looking to have more moisture and less accumulation. But, they keep changing the forecast anyway. Guess we'll know the true amount when it's over.

It's got that feel....everyone is at the gas station filling their cans. Let the games begin!

Was talking to a lady in CT this afternoon. Said they'd already called Tuesday a snow day and that they'd be closed for the day. You guys stay safe.

They were calling for 15 cm of snow today! There's barely 1 cm on the ground right now. I live just east of Toronto and I bet they got more snow and also up north a bit. I guess the lake effects are having an impact on the snowfall. It's still bitterly cold at the moment but will probably warm up a tad this afternoon. We've been having a yo-yo type of weather in February and March being ultra mild one day and real cold the next. No wonder people are getting sick.

Watching the morning news on the East Coast storm. insane. that kind of snow and weather is dangerous. Hoping the best for all you East Coasters.

They are back peddling on the snow amount in my area, probably just a foot+. but, it's supposed to rain later, so that should be interesting.

Currently it's coming down fast, and the wind is insane. Those turkey don't quit though....I was jamming out, and looked out the window to see them banging their heads to my sweet wintery riffs.

It started snowing a little heavier here about 11:30. It's the wet heavy stuff that I hate. The ocean still has some warm air masses due to the water temperature, and the storm is coming at me from the southwest, so I expect the shoveling to be very sluggish.

Since my wife works at the airport, and she's staying overnight and through tomorrow, I don't have to do all the clean up at once.

I remember the blizzard in '78. It was beyond anything I've seen before or since. Winds then were 80-111 mph.

People didn't make it off the hwy...their cars were left on the hwy. We, as a community, were not prepared.

The blizzard of '78 was before salt trucks. We were bumper jumping plows, emergency vehicles, or anything else we could grab on to. To get to the liquor store, we would attach a sled to my friend's dog. She did the hauling for us.

I just went out and pulled snow off the roof....thank god I did. That stuff weighs a ton. A foot of snow, absolutely filled with water. It's going to turn back to snow, and the temp is going to drop tonight.

Then I had to decide, do I clear the driveway?? If I do it now, it will be a 2" ice rink later. If I don't, it may be a 1 foot block of ice. I cleared it. Crossing my fingers.

well i person needs antifreeze in weather like that

This stuff works nicely.

I put antifreeze in my heat pipes after the burst of '10. What a nightmare that was.
