Before I Became A Rocker:

I grew up listening to my Moms records which where much different than my Dads. Merle,Buck,Roy,Cash,Kitty Wells,Limelighters,Santo and Johnny, Willy,George Jones, well you get the picture.

I go as far back is How much is that Doggie in the Window at my grandma's house to What's New Pussycat, to Smokin in the Boys Room, Bad Bad Leroy Brown, Elton and Kiki Dee, Bay City Rollers S S S Saturday Night, on up to the precipice when R n R grabbed me and Van Halen, Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, Kiss, Stones, Zep, Leppard, Styx, Rush all took over. Now I enjoy all types of music.

all that.....and more.......lawrence Welk and HEe HAw.......Bobby Vinton, Dean Martin and the Rat Pack et all......Pavarotti, Stefano-- to Ray Charles, and James Brown....Slim Whittman to Skynyrd, Hatchet and Top
Queen Zep --- all of it KISS --- ALice--- and ABBA ......I listen to it all as a kid and soaked it all in .....

My parents were into Big Band music. Tommy Dorsey, Glenn Miller, etc. I wouldn't say I liked it but it was OK. From early on whenever I turned on the radio I instinctively tuned to rock stations so I guess I was born this way. The first time I heard Black Sabbath was as exciting to me as the first time I "did it" with a real, live girl.

poop i FORGOT ALL ABOUT gLENN mILLER Grandfather was in WWII he listend to 8 tracks of all sorts of stuff when we went on family vacation in the Winnebago -----I HATED it then but sadly miss it very much now.

I remember these...

...and this one from my best friends mom collection.

Then in 1967 my uncle gave me these two albums and I never looked back. And I still have both of them!

Before rock entered my life, I heard classical...lots and lots of classical...that my mother played on the record player.

She would also take me to local symphonies.

To this day, I still LOVE classical music.

If someone were to tell me I had to pick either classical or rock to never hear again, I'd bid a fair adieu to rock...and I'd start learning classical guitar on a Les Paul!
