Here we go kids! After a bunch of coin flipping, we have Billy, Dusty and Frank VS Jimi, Noel/Billy & Mitch
Two trios, with a LOT of power between them.

One barely made this tourney, but what an MASSIVE impact on Rock 'n Roll they made in a very short period.
The other had staying power, many records over the years, always creative, and cover band staples created.

Alright all you boomers, Genexxers and maybe a few Millennials even.... what are your thoughts regarding these two outfits?

In my life I've listened to ZZ Top a LOT more than Hendrix. That's the problem with these superstar groups.
How much do you weigh in the vast influence or majorly groundbreaking musicianship, vs. where your heart lies?

As much as Hendrix deserves to even sit even ABOVE this whole tourney, I agree with y'all on that...
I'm going with my heart and rootsy Texas boogie, even if just to make this more of a contest.

If i was somehow sentenced to life being forced to listen to my choice of either of these
two groups for the rest of my days... ZZ Top would be my pick.

As much as we all know Hendrix is one of, if not, the greatest guitarist in our lifetime. But this is a battle of the bands contest. Have you ever seen it written about the Jimi Hendrix band? Nope, it always just Hendrix. ZZ Top has been a band for decades and as such has my vote as a band. Jimi is still the greatest!

I am in @TVvoodoo boat as well. Hendrix changed the way guitar was played and shows were made but personally I listen to ZZ way more. As a group, I feel they get a slight nod. Hendrix was a legend indeed but so is the Rev Billy G.
Plus Are You Experienced was 1967, a year before our contest starts. Groundbreaking tho it was, it is a nod more to tne stoner 60s than the 70s IMO.

No doubt Jimi is the reason for the season, loud Deguello is the result.

I rest my case and forgive all yall for being wrong
