bassbreakers vs marshalls..........

Funny thing -- I have had HIGH GAIN amps--- I have a couple "semi high gain" amps presently-- I dont USE that much gain in my tone --

70's break up-- or MAYBE the occasional 80's hair band level of gain when Im feeling "jiggy" ..... but to have the massive amounts of modern metal gain on tap ........not my bag man
I can respect and enjoy OTHERS playing it ....... but Im gonna roll a slow blues jams with a touch of dirt and cruise on.........

Maybe thats why the dos MESAs didnt last......or the DSLs .................and if I WANT to dial up some (REALLY, THEY WAS MADE IN THE 80's) GAIN I have the Bandit 112 (stupid levels of gain) and the Marshall VS8020

OH also as a "side" --- is this basically a DUMBLE IN A BOX ?

and these guys

Those weren't their amps, they were provided by the studio for the shoot and they recorded several songs. Iommi has had more than a few negative things to say about Orange amps over the years, I think based on being asked over and over about the ones used in that video. At the time that was shot he was using (primarily) Laneys.

Y'know, I've taken the same trip and arrived at the conclusion that I prefer high gain amps for all purposes. Now, I don't come anywhere near using all the gain on tap, usually it's only up between 10 and 11 o'clock, but there is just something about a preamp having all those gain stages that seems to make it that much more responsive and touch-sensitive. At least for me.

Could you do me a favour? Play heavily palm muted down-picking and riffing with your usual settings. I want to see how it sounds , oh, dont forget to boost it,please thanks in advance.

Here you go Ramo. Red channel, gain on 7 and I have my Boss Super Overdrive set as you requested. It makes a very small difference, but you can hear it.

Thanks, man, you are a star thanks for doing that. Yea, the sound is good od makes a small difference but when you are in the room you feel it. Did you have a noise gate on?

awesome riffs and thanks for doing my request.

I don't have a noise gate as of yet Ramo. Having the OD on is growing on me. It adds quite a bit of definition to the sound.
