Aw, man, now why'd they go and do that?

you got the green light man GO GO GO GO GO GO !!!!!

Dude, if these were already in the stores it would already be mine. Just waiting until they start showing up so I can go play a few and find the right one.
Curious about the neck thickness. The description is pretty vague ( rounded "C" neck profile) so not sure if they went with something similar to an actual Norlin or not. I'm still pretty bummed that they didn't use maple necks on these, so hope they didn't botch the neck profile.

yes..... the "rounded C" is very vague...................
this is listed as SLIM TAPER (even TRADE MARKED (you go GIBSON .....lol)

Id not call it slim ---- taper maybe -- its not 50's fat .... but
THIS:

is also listed as the same "Slim Taper" (though not Trade Marked!!!) --- and it is wafer thin compared to the Epi.............
both made by the same PARENT COMPANY -- both using the same description ...... both VERY different feeling in hand

The biggest neck I have is my '50's Goldtop. It's huge; the fattest neck of any guitar I have ever owned.
Next up is the Les Paul Special. It' big, almost as fat as the Goldtop, but just a bit less beef.
My Les Paul Traditional has a neck that feels like the '59 Reissues - a Goldilocks, not too big not too thin.
My '79 Silverburst has that late Norlin Slim Taper that starts out thin and flat at the nut and gets progressively thicker and rounder as you head toward the heel.

I don't like any of them over the others. They are all comfortable for different reasons, and the Goltop has that bluesier feel to it if you know what I mean while at the other end the LPC is super fast and built for hard rock/metal. I was just wondering where these Deluxe necks will fit in.

I have "issues" (BUWAHAHAHAHAHAHA -- aha .... oh damn .... sorry ) no really with carpal tunnel and arthritis and (other things) but it can take me weeks to adjust to a new neck profile --- sometimes I have to wear braces.... or wraps .... or limit playing to a short time as pain in my hand/arm/shoulder/neck/back can actually occur and has -- some necks FALL right in and no issue-- some take a few hours some a few days some ..........like this one NEVER worked out -- a few MONTHS of trying .........every time I played Id be in pain for hours if not days ---- loved the bass........absolutely loved it and had wanted one for years......but it had to go

neck was base ball bat thick (not a total deal breaker) but the overall shape was such that my hand/wrist never could make the leap -- it played and sounded GREAT -- but I experienced pain every time I played it

What's that monster weigh? I had a '77 Les Paul Custom once that was over 12 lbs and I gigged with it, but I was a young man at the time and it never really registered that it was so heavy - in fact I kind of liked the weight. Now, if I play my Custom, which is a har over 11 pounds, for any more than about 90 minutes I get some lower back pain on my left side. Getting old is so damn fun!

Got my first view of an actual photo of an in-stock Deluxe and they did do the burst more like a real 70s - that tomato-soupey red with a more abrupt fade in the burst. Nice! Now I just gotta find one close by to see how that neck feels.
