Are you working on any cover songs

Cool thread!

My musical pal just helped me with drums and keys on my cover of Hotel California. Essentially, we now have a proper backing track for my later use on my upcoming CD. We dropped it to A minor, to suit my vocals, and I added my own bass track using my old Ibanez beater.

I gotta learn these easy going pieces by 3/12. Using my new PRS at the moment, but might use the Yamaha 12 string. The singer is a John Lennon big time fan. No power chords here.....

Secret Agent Man Rivers Em
For What Its Worth Buffalo E
Boulevard of Broken Dreams Green Day Em
I Will Beatles C
Here Comes The Sun Beatles G
Solitary Man Diamond Em
Across the Universe/Because Beatles D
Good Riddance Green Day G
While My Guitar Gentle Weeps Beatles Am

I meant where on the neck? Some guys play it all down by the nut, I use bar chords for the D A and B.

[Verse]
F#m D A B F#m D A B
Jenny Jenny who can I turn to
F#m D A B A* -> A B
You give me something I can hold on to
(2nd guitar starts Main Riff x4)
F#m D A B F#m D A B
I know you think I’m like the others before
F#m D A B F#m D A B
Who saw your name and number on the wall

[Pre-Chorus]
E E/G# D D/C# A E
Jenny I got your number
E E/G# A D A
I need to make you mine
E E/G# D D/C# A E
Jenny don’t change your number
[Chorus]
F#m D A B| F#m D A B| F#m D A B| F#m D A B
8 6 7-5309 (867-5309) 867-5309 (867-5309)

All Bar Chords Work Great Here....

My oldest son calls me and suggests I write a rock instrumental and we make a video for it. So, I'm thinking, Ok, that could work, and I thought wouldn't it be cool to find a way to obscure the guitarist's face?

There's an abandoned train station up near his place and that might be a cool backdrop...

Always trying to find & learn new cover songs that people will recognize when I hit acoustic open mic's with my dulcimer strummers.
So far my list of ready to play tunes is...
Solsbury Hill
Mamma, I'm Coming Home
Norwegian Wood
Over the Rainbow
Vincent (Starry Night)
Copperhead Road
You are my Sunshine

Ones I'm still working on are...
The Rain Song
Sufficiently Breathless
Harvest Moon
Both Sides Now

I first learned Norwegian Wood on a 12 string. It sounds prudy.
