Are You Kidding Me???

Great job Robert.
Did you bolt it from inside as well?

Serious question.
I've fixed similar breaks by sinking a pair of studs into the neck heel, drilling the body and bolting it all back together.

I didn't on this one, but considered that. I still could install a central screw, but the dowels fit nice and tight.

I used FAA T88 structural wood aircraft adhesive. I don't think it's coming off...ever... :-)

My friend had left me some of his guitars to mind after and without his knowledge, I fixed his DOT Deluxe and a few months passed when I managed to take it to him at one of his former apartments. He was incredibly surprised I had fixed it, and by the next day, he told me he had stayed up all night playing it.

Oooh....I don’t know about that.

Acoustic necks are usually affixed with hide glue, or some other adhesive that allows the joint to be heated or steamed loose. This allows for the neck to be removed if it should need a reset sometime in the future.

Taylor allows for this by using an internal bolt-on method.

Probably not going to get a two part, structural wood aircraft adhesive to steam apart...LOL
