Appearance Question:

Inspector #20

Ambassador of Tone
Fallen Star
Country flag
Built this Les Paul Replica as a gift for Mom Mother's Day 2017.

She wanted a Von Herndon branded Tele, so i took it in 'trade' so to speak.

I'm planning on using it as my second Les Paul. To that end, I am going to put a set of Suhr Doug Aldrich Humbuckers in it.

Question is, what would look best in place of the gold???

Black, Cream or Zebra???

To me the only thing that looks right on a Custom is covered pickups but if that isn't an option double-black is the only acceptable answer since there is no cream plastic to be found anywhere else on one.

Completely agree...and agree on the double black. (And I’m a zebra fan)
It needs some serious headstock cosmetic work.

I tend to agree on the double black. it's a great playing guitar. I learned a lot on that build - and had a LOT of help - but it will make a great backup and/or E-flat guitar...

What can your say about Aldrich pups? I bought a project guitar that has a set in it. Haven’t plugged it in yet.

Thanks, Guys....I also have the correct gold keystone Grovers to replace the kidney beans.

He’s just changing the tuner button shape. Not the color...if I’ve read correctly.

Gold pup covers, or tuner buttons? I was going to suggest keeping the gold pup covers.

:bash:I should have typed, “he’s just changing the tuner button shape. Not the color*of the tuners*”.
:cheers:Edit: I must have misread Smitty’s post originally. I thought he referred to the tuners being changed...when he asked about the gold being changed.
