Anyone seen one? or GOt one? of these SG's?

(excluding the finish which I hate on those satin Gibsons because it comes off in clumps...).

I must have got lucky with my satin finished 2013 60's tribute SG. I've had it since new & the finish is holding up quite well, none has come off.
Happy New Guitar Day eSGEe, that's a sweet SG, enjoy. Cheers

THanks ivan.
I had a 70's trib (black) that was through a couple hands here -- or was it another forum -- I dont remember any-who it was fine -- the guy I traded it to (for my T-60) still had it as of last month and it looked fine no chunks falling off---

I have seen others though online with the issue of "premature aging" with this finish....jury still out?

Yeah, I suppose it depends. Obviously the faded have a great waxy finish which looks and feels perfect to me. The Future Tribute I had was a great guitar, but a 2+ inch of the finish dropped off where the strap rubbed (after only two weeks), and the black finish was generally just rubbing off straight away, so I sold it to somebody who liked that look. It was worse on the back rubbing against your body, arm, etc than on the front.

I'd quite fancy a future tribute goldtop that has the satin top and a faded brown back.

&, as eSGEe has suggested, maybe a good polish and a light varnish/nitro/something could make it perfect?

I'm sure this SG will be an excellent guitar.

eSGEe,
I had an SGJ for a while which looked strikingly similar to your. I replaced the stock humbucker pickups with '57 Classic/Classic+ and I liked it but, alas, it moved on for something different.
