Anyone Copyright Their Originals

unfortunately those times is when all my good music comes out....i played thru my last 2 CD's we just did...man....it's sad on many levels...possibly the best comes out artistically under those times...at least not out harming others..or something dumb like on the news...music is prob a sedative in a way....i just never been 3 years out without playing live...messing with my mind...forget the chord progression to one of those songs today..crazy....the way the world is going..virtual everything..might as well hook a cam up & play live from home or something...that is possible....turn that bandroom into a full blown studio for filming concerts..overdub screaming fans...toss some bra's on stage....fill the room up with smoke....

I know there is sarcasm in this post, but a lot of truth too!

The times have changed. Need to use this to our advantage.
Gotta face that phone technology is here, and its changed life as we once knew it.

Radio play is big Corporations.. Internet is what radio once was. Got to use it.
One is not confined to a local pocket of people in a small town.

The whole world can hear ones music.

Form a band and turn the living room into a make shift sound set and up load performances.
Play sets as if in a club. I'm not up on the lingo, maybe that is called a pod cast....

Scour music sites to see how others are doing it. What there doing right and what could be done better to get ones music heard.

This kind of stuff is happening here in Arizona. Found this in the local Craigslist..

I been thinking about it..i have everything needed to do 1 heck of a youtube channel....want a demo of something....go produce it..but Nuetral..no editing,,,wanna hear an amp..then it boosted.. then a certain pedal...then maybe a greenback cab vs another cab at same settings...then Sg LP Strat Gretsch Firebird....actually do it up on a whole new level....or go live & take questions....my first episode would be no doubt..boosting that jtm45 i have...did one day & there it was..it was sick..i mean the nastiest palm mutes but tight & clear..had them 4 greenbacks compressed just right...only time i ever had a neighbor knock on the door..it was brootal..they were having dinner 2 houses over & it was loud in their house..my ears rang for a few days...it was addicting cause the SD1 lit it up in such a raw way..the chords were just so full..have had all my amps up -never a problem..our niehbors like the music & always stop by when we were practicing in the bandroom..but this was way to loud

Now your thinking!
Love the enthusiasm!
2 houses over, Damn thats loud! :dood:

No risk, no reward. This goes for me too!
I've been nesting too damn long on all this. I need to spread my wings and fly!

Thats why I posted those Beatle covers here. Flapping my wings, getting them strong for flight, so to speak.

Sharing ones original music has been on my heart a long time.

Do you copyright, don't care to, or its all just for fun......
No wrong answers, whether for fun or maybe future income...

Those that are writing, you know how much time and work one puts into a song with hopes of maybe
some day bringing in income from that labor.

Does anyone copyright their songs..
Even the poor mans copyright, where one mails it to themselves and then don't open it.
I've heard this doesn't hold up, yet its something.
I think Legal Zoom has some avenues towards this.
I too primitive to know how to :)

Great, lets hear it :) and thank you

From USPTO Website:
Can foreigners register their works in the United States?
Any work that is protected by U.S. copyright law can be registered. This includes many works of foreign origin. All works that are unpublished, regardless of the nationality of the author, are protected in the United States. Works that are first published in the United States or in a country with which we have a copyright treaty or that are created by a citizen or domiciliary of a country with which we have a copyright treaty are also protected and may therefore be registered with the U.S. Copyright Office. See Circular 38a, International Copyright Relations of the United States, for the status of specific countries, and Circular 38b, Copyright Restoration Under the URAA...

Step 1. Setup free account with USPTO

Step 2. Record song as an MP3. Studio quality is not required.

Step 3. Fill out online forms here:

Step 4. Pay fees of $66.00USD electronically per song to be registered.

Step 5. Upload MP3 and submit.

Registration form will be mailed in a few weeks...

I jammed with Michael Goode who is a keyboard player.
"Show me you favorite jam riffs..."

About a year later, my little Jam was a Chaka Kahn song.
Oh, I didn't know that Michael Goode was Chaka Kahn's keyboard player....
But anyway I like Chaka Kahn, slightly less painful.
