Anybody Else Wake Up Early??

I went in with my daughter when my 1st grandchild was coming into the world. I was horrified! I felt dizzy for a min. Women are no weaklings!
You are not for sure. When our oldest was born, he was a large baby. Nearly 9# as it turned out. My wife is not a large lady. 5’4” on a good day and around a buck 25 at her pregnant weight. He was not wanting to come into this world. Dr. told us if it didn’t happen pretty soon we’d be looking at a C-Section. I think that pissed her off because 30 minutes later we had a baby. o_O

Our 2 year old son woke us up around 4 am, his (and mine) schedule is a bit messed up as he's returning back to daycare (and I'm going back to work) after he was placed in COVID quarantine for the last two weeks... I went to calm him down and fell asleep in his room. '

A while after that, maybe around 5? we had the following (freely translated) conversation:
Son: Where is my blanket?
Me: It's right next to you.
Son: I've lost my blanket! DEAR LORD!
Kids are fun... if not a bit frustrating at times. My youngest was probably 5-6. Getting ready to head out to school. Crying in his bedroom because he couldn’t find his shoes. Walked in.... called him by his full name (as a kid you always know you’re in trouble when a parent uses your full name).... he was holding one shoe and was literally standing on his other. That was 30 years ago and I’m still reminding him..... and telling on him to his kids.

Nope, Ramo. It is the other reason babies and elderly need diapers.

I am glad you luckily walked away unhurt as well.
me too. scary thing was once i had my boy in a car and he was around 4 years old that time.... Volvo is built like a tank and took the beating...... I was taking him to school after the night shift I was tired and that's when mistakes happen...... boy and everyone was ok but both cars total write-off....

I fully understand, right down to the Volvo. My dad had one starting in 1973.

<----------Snap filter pic. Not affected by age? :pound-hand: I wish!

ZZZZZ, I did not word my message precisely enough with regards to aging. I meant specifically not affected by incontinence due to prostate troubles. Not NOT affected with aging, as in being spared some struggles females also must endure.

Enough on these not so fun troubles of the years adding up.

We poke fun at each other..... but reality is..... we each have our crosses to bear as we age. Think I can be ok with waking up 3 times a night to pee vs hot flashes. And then there’s the child bearing thing. I was in the delivery room when both my boys were born. There ain’t nothing “fairer sex” about that deal. I promise you. If men had to do that, civilization would be done in one generation.

IB,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, If we can permit a little off color NSFW type joke I would like to post it for all the adults M and F types.

When Adam and Eve were made, God said to Adam, ok Adam, you have 2 choices but you can only pick one.

Adam says, " Ok what are they?"

God says, "You can either have Multiple O's, or pee standing up."

I had to get up (4:30) an hour or so earlier Monday to be in Jersey City before 7:00 am.
Financial district directly across the Hudson from lower Manhattan.
Still tired.

I recently saw an interesting show that briefly touched on the construction of the Canal Street tunnel, now known as the Holland Tunnel.
The building where I was is 2 blocks south of it.
As we ended up on the roof of this building I was able to see the east side ventilation structure on the river.
There is one on land and one on the river at near each end. That have a total of 84 fans to circulate the auto exhaust out.
The worlds first mechanically vented underwater tunnel for gas powered vehicles.

Not bad for 1927.

Gball, I really do miss walking. Ever since I was a kid I could walk endlessly, especially around many wooded areas of Loch Raven Reservoir.
In recent years, my lifetime of low back pains has worsened to even make tying my shoes hurt enough to take my breath away.

jtcnj's wife took notice of my hobbling a bit when I stopped by there in NJ to pick up my Jackson. Of course I had had a 3+ hour drive in the car before I arrived.
I know exactly what that feels like
( the 3 hour drive ) and being stiff for at least 5 minutes before walking is pain free !
