Anybody Build Their Own Head Cab?

I was poking around my Sourmash Marshall style cab drilling holes for the mounting bolts the other day and thought this doesn't look so tough to do.

Anybody built their own? It doesn't look like the corners are finger jointed or require special wood working tools. I think I might give it a go on my next head build unless anyone can point out something I'm not noticing.

Disclaimer: I am not a professional woodworker, still have all my appendages and want to keep it that way. I am pretty handy with a chainsaw though.
 
Hardest part, by far is the tolex.

I've built a couple, happy to walk with you through each step.

EXCEPT the tolex, so I paid an upohsterly (sorry for spelling), after materials and tolex, cheaper to let Bob @ Sourmash have the work.

There is the satisfaction of diy, but I'd probably not do it again after buying a few from Sourmash.

I have neither built my own or used a "Sourmash" cab, but, I "believe" the Sourmash cabs are an authentic reproduction. If so they should definitely be finger joined. You won't see this on a tolex'd cab, or from the inside. I do have drawings for a smallbox cab someplace, I can see if I can dig them out for you. Cheers

Have had mine for while, they've held up well. Been traveled some, not babied. Hell do slight custom openings, any color usually, easy to work with. And can't complain $ wise.
 
If they are finger jointed I'm out. I love the Sourmash box I have for my 2203, the price is great for the quality and I'm sure I will be getting more. I just generally can't leave well enough alone. I've been destroying, tweaking and building stuff for the better part of 50 years.

Sometimes I just need to ask the question to get you guys to reel in the leash.
 
Never heard of the SourMash cabs before. Looks like they are based out of Florida.

The cabs I've ever built up to this point have been repurposed type cabs for the most part.

Ya, it's his version of salt and pepper, seems thicker than others? Also tames highs, to my old ear.
Have a couple at rehearsal space as well, a Marshall style 1936, and the bottom of the 2*12, top shown above.
