Any opinions on Duncan Alternative 8 bridge?

Do you think it would work in a super light alder body with an all maple Warmoth conversion neck with 6100's? Going to use two Carvin Twin blades for middle/neck very like Duncan cool rails. 500k CTS +- 10% Pots Sprauge .047 orange drop.

Rock and Roll. I am gonna try what I have here first for free. Swapping magnets later today. My all time favorite humbuckers are Gibson 57 classics. Sometimes though you just want a different sound.

I think they represent an excellent value and are probably awesome. Maybe next go round. I have decided to swap in a ceramic magnet in a Duncan Custom Custom A2 that I have and see how that goes.

I have a Custom in a basswood body Jackson Dinky. I like it. I am not good at describing tone, and even less at describing if guitar body woods are darker or brighter (other than what I have read). To me it is less bluesy and more aggressive than PAFs. I guess with either magnet it is higher output / more aggressive than PAFs.

I like PAFs too and have some version - some original recipe and some "modern". I tend to pick up the Jackson more for 80's Judas Priest / Iron Maiden, etc.

I generally dig A2's in both Humbuckers and Duncan strat pu's but the Custom Custom for me is the worst of both worlds if you will. It might have worked for me if the coils were not symmetrical but all I hear is a dull mess in alder or swamp ash. So mag swap time.

Try lowering it a bit more than you might think.

I ended up swapping in a double thick ceramic magnet. I measured the resistance at 14.65K. We will see almost afraid to test it out
