Any Marshalls and which ones ya got?

I can’t wait to get an SG and run it into the Plexi.......
I do also have a Code 100h to play with when I feel the need...They get a wrap like the ole MG’s do, but if you find a sweet spot on the dial, I leave it, cause it emulates pretty well for my ears...
I can run it into a 2x12 or the 4x12 and it will peel some paint...
I found the Code cabs and the combo speakers just plain STINK, but with sweet speakers the Code will do what you need it to....
I have heard many people play the code amps , but I have never set down with one!
I have been able to get excellent tones from the MG line, and have never knocked them , especially after purchasing 3 different mg amps!
The half stack that was sold to my grandsons friend is still rocking solid, as our little 30’s are as well!
Cheers Mitch

I agree....MG’s are not bad....
I have one around someplace in the studio, every once in a while it gets fired up...Yanno I would have given anything to have an MG back when I started and most would have too..I just got lucky and my Dad was able to score me a Plexi, so I somewhat grew up with sweet sounds of a Plexi and most of my pals were envious....
For what the MG’s and Codes are, one can still get decent tones out of them...

Fired jmp50 up last night after a fender binge. Was on normal chan having a blast. No pedals ever needed in a plexi.. just love the gain & the blending of the 2 channels. It really is a pure way of playing..the guitar is the control..just crank that amp up..the tone is in the volume. I run all the dials dimed at times..no real dif moving the dials once its cranked..its just balls out.

Only change mine had was a Creamback added....I have other toooblers, but the OEM’s are still LIT..
So why change anything....I only use that full stack when I get a wild hair and also the Plexi...
To tone them down a bit, I just lower the vol, and run into a sweet 2x12..But the DSL 40 THUMPS..
If you must …… This C19 Cap Option Mod is pretty Sweet !!29164

@ Frac...that may be true, but I would need a new amp if I ever tried that...
I can bulid a mean monster race car, but I am just PURE STUPID when it comes to my amps and guitars..
If it was anything more than a $300 used 40C …… I would never have messed with it ……In retrospect , I love the tone of the 100pF Cap in there instead of the stock 470pF …… The Fizz Fix IMHO !!

My best 100 watt Marshall is not a Marshall it's a Dumble clone with modifications 1. JTM 45/100 filtering 2. bright switch on/on/on
250pf polystyrene and 500pf polystyrene capacitors smooth custom wound power transformer and a 1968 Dagnall output transformer C1998
Master volume clean channel Master volume overdrive channel. In my humble opinion it blows away the real Dumble 183
With the bright switch off sounds like Jimmy Page 250pf Jimmi Hendrix 500pf AC/DC it's so loud I have to use the Dumblator
The amp loves Les Paul Standards real Burst's I think I built it 10 years ago I'm not getting into my Les Paul collection off topic
It took two years to get the correct reading CTS pot's look at the layout and see what I'm talking about.

The real 183

I have a few. In the photo (top left to lower right) a '79 100 watt JMP in a Mojo box, Fawn '78 50 watt JMP sitting on a '78 1960A cab, '73 50 watt 1987 JMP sitting on two '72 Lead Bass cabs, '89 JTM 45 reissue sitting on a '70 1990 8 x 10. There's also some Hiwatt and DST stuff mixed in there.

I also have a couple of '87 Jubilee cabs, a '79 Master Model Lead combo, and an '86 Lead 12 practice amp.
