Occasionally I get to thinking about bands that are maybe NOT "from around here" so to speak.

Loudness comes to mind as they are from Asia. SO, does anyone follow them or got into them as they emerged etc?

I’m a fan of Loudness. My first music amp in 1978 was a 175 watt per channel one. Unfortunately the Wharfedale E70 speakers were only 100 watt. Toasted both woofers within a year. Had them rebuilt by a place on Sunset Blvd, and they are still in use today.

Oh, and Hold Your Head High...

Ah, Roudness! They were never big in Norway. The fact that they were from Japan almost made people think of them as a novelty.

Gahr, I think my impression has always recollected this could be a fact, but there are some phenomenal stringed instrument players in Asia ( Japan included)

Oh, sure! The point is, we never gave Loudness a chance. The general attitude regarding music was that most stuff not coming from either English speaking countries, Norway, Sweden, Denmark or in rare cases Germany, was crap by default. Just plain youthful stupidity on our part, of course. They were really just as good as any other hard rock band in the '80s, although their lyrics are a bit under par for the course in my humble opinion.
