I'm thinking about doing this.
I looked at a beater unbranded similar one I should have bought and it has haunted me since.

I have no experience with the Rhoads V, but I do with the lower-priced Jackson Dinky. They are very good for the money.

The pickups and electronics aren’t my favorite, but the build quality is very good.

Not the V but I really like this one

So much so I have pulled it from the "flip" list....it has a very nice neck---love the neck--- pups are "o,.k." I could change them.....but meh....

it is a great 80's hairband toy for when I wanna get my Ratt Poison Crue "thang" on

219 and free shipping ---DO IT!

Do you have ANY OTHER shark fin inlay guitars????????? you have to have at least 1 (ONE) sharkfin in lay guitar man

The Jackson is cheaper --- and of the two--- IMHO the safer bet....but I dont know much about that other brand so.....

I'm going to hold off for now, thanks for the feedback.
My first choice is the budget model but I will keep monitoring the market for used RR3, etc.
It is still on my radar but now is just not the time.

Every import Jackson I have played had great setup....

I have no experience with the Rhoads V but do have a Pro Soloist (Indonesian). Like has been said, the build quality is excellent, neck is really, really good. Fast. Came with a great setup out of the box & good shielding (paint). Ellectronics are like any Asian guitar but easily upgraded, which I haven't done yet as it all functions properly. Pickups are Duncan Distortions, so very good. Really glad I got it so I say do it, you wont regret it. Cheers

I myself am the proud owner of a black Jackson King V which Dave Mustaine made famous. It's a neck thru-body with 24 frets and a compound radius FB. It also has a licensed Floyd Rose vibrato system which works very well. The pick ups are the active EMG 81 & 85 set which sound simply fabulous. I believe the guitar was made in India if I'm not mistaken. It's a real fun guitar to play once you get used to it.

While on the Factory Tour of Dean Guitars in Tampa I HELD Dave Mustaines actual guitar he was having made that day ---- BEFORE HE DID it was a really COOL Koa Wood V --- ;) got my DNA all over that fret board...er---perhaps I said to much

I noticed he switched from Jackson over to Dean guitars which look real cool & I bet they are very high build quality. That's pretty cool you actually got to hold one of his pre-made guitars. I know that Koa wood has great tonal & sustain properties. Maybe that will be one of his main guitars for a while...especially with all your DNA all over it.:p
