Anvil Case Restoration for Les Paul's

All of this takes a degree of obsessive compulsive disorder. I should know, I have it too.

Lucky me, Chub, I am not OCD. If I were, I would never have had a messy notebook or barely legible notes in school, messy laundry, tools out of place, missing papers, over due tax returns etc.

I simply like to not waste money paying others to fix my stuff, and when faced with good equipment that goes bad, I like to have it restored bac to it's fully capable state of usefulness again.

I added an accessory compartment "door" to one of my cases. I had to find the right cardboard and lining. Then I had to glue and sew. It took me forever to get it perfect for my standards.

Black, do you mean diagonally or like the body and neck doesn't sit flat?
If diagonally,,,,,, that is how Anvil oriented it and I just did it the same.

Oh...diagonally I meant. It looks like the guitar is sitting flat in the case which counts. Jeez that Epi LP sure has a nice top to it! It looks good in your new case for sure.:)

Thanks, Black. Believe it or not that guitar sat in the mom and pop shop for 2+ years before I bought it.
Yes it has had upgrades and fixes, but I think it is a killer LP. The only things I'd improve now are new jack and switch plus maybe a better Tailpiece. but for now, it is a tone machine and very easy to play.

Try installing a new graphite TUSQ nut like I did on my Epiphone LP Standard in black...it sure made a world of difference and sounds more distinct. The nut was a bit longer than the width of the fret board so I filed and sanded smoothly both edges of the nut until it was flush with the FB. I noticed after that the string spacing at the new nut was wider or more spread out compared to the original nut which kind of bunched up the strings. It feels great and playing open chords feels easier. Other than that Epi LP's are top-notch guitars!
