Another SoCal Meeting at Sp8ctre's Hall of Fame Studio!

My wife might even go for that!
I've been to enuff of my wife's family events that she should have no objection to her joining me at a TTR family event. Most of my blood family have passed on to that great gig in the sky, so I got her family and y'all.

Let’s see if we can work this out. We’re slowly moving stuff to the new place, so the garage should be getting thinned out some too. It’s gonna be tough to leave this place as I’ve put a ton of sweat equity into building a lot of stuff here. But on the positive side I now have a new canvas to work with.

I‘m gonna a start a new Don studio build thread that will cover the year or so it’s gonna take. Here’s the current state.

Very cool garage... (y). Is that a train track set hanging between the doors?

Yep, it’s a N gauge layout I started in 1990. My dad was a big HO fan and had a huge layout in his basement in a house in MD. I’ve been selling stuff on eBay and all the engines, rolling stock and buildings will be on there in the next few months. It was a fun build project, I even built the power supplies (3 of them). You can run 2 trains and the 3rd was for the spurs.

My dad used to build HO train and slot car tracks! He loved working on them, but I never got to play with them. They hung on the wall and collected dust.

Don, I would love to see a thread with you building your new studio! But, if you start you have to stick with it and not leave us cold. Too many shows I
watch just disappear and leave me hangin'!

Sure will. Not gonna start until we are living up there full time, some time in the spring next year. Last weekend I built the beginning of the shop work benches. This was from wood left by the previous owner. Along that wall will be this (with a 3/4 inch MDF top) then a radial arm saw and then another 8 ft bench. I had that same setup in my previous home. I could rip anything 8 foot long. On the other side of this wall is the studio to be built.

Train running around the ceiling of the studio!!!!!!!!
thats what i am building when we move...lol..have it all ready to go here but decided to move, Set soon..all day guitar recording & trains & go kart racing...once they decommission me from being on call since June 24, 2012 started this company...never 1 minute of peace...every meal..every crap..every shower..the phone rings,,never fails

That desk has a shuffleboard style oak top that attaches as a drafting table( i keep it upside down until its time to set up). It is finished like a shuffleboard...when we move will set it like that & have my song lyrics & chord progression all organized as a workflow table. The chair is the main dispatch chair for the Harrisburg PA relay Tower along the Susquehanna river.Ephrata Borough-20150911-00282.jpgEphrata Borough-20150911-00286.jpgEphrata Borough-20151109-00375.jpg

Alright, these meetups are a cool idea. But only because this place seems to be a pretty tight knit community of guys that are mostly non troublemakers...

I would never do this with any other place on the internet, probably lol

The forum/real life barrier is kinda like a condom in some aspects...

How many of us besides myself and LRT are from the PNW? I know there's a handful of us, but PNW is a large area. What about just from Washington? Me, LRT, FracStrat, maybe a couple others? JGoo ain't too far...yet still in another state...
