another recently said "I really shouldn't"?

Bad news, I just called the shop ... YES a serious discount from the $4,552 was offered AND they will take a trade :-(
Just now selecting 3 or 4 guitars I'd be prepared to use as part exchange and will see what each is worth to them ... watch this space.
 
oh man the suspense is killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!! (took me 14 guitars and amps to get the Les Paul Recording guitar) -- and it was a FRACTION of your sales price --- you better dig deep man!

They have a policy of only trading ONE guitar on a sale.
I have done two before as they had a ready buyer for one of the trades.
Only taking multiple guitars in to compare deals, not multiple trades.

Yes private usually gets a bit more money BUT we have a small population and a land mass the same size as the US so it's tougher to make the private connection to sell.
Off to the shop now, wish me luck, not going to deal unless it's very attractive to me.

Haven't been home long enough to get properly acquainted yet.
I took 5 guitars to the shop, worked 5 different deals and chose to leave the Schecter behind.
Schecter photo taken Jan 2017 when my dear wife purchased, hardly ever played so it was the one to go (also not one of mine, haaa).

Sorry Black, I missed your question yesterday. Answer, I'm not 100% sure but it looks like (from factory web site) parts from USA, Korea & Germany all assembled and pleked in Germany.
At my point of sale they told me Germany but a web search just now shows people giving gut-feel answers and stories told 2nd and 3rd hand all making it murky.
Regardless I'm loving it, I'll try to get my boy to record a audio sample this week.

Thats just 70% of the FRONT yard your seeing and the BACK is even bigger! :)

Gasket-- well done she looks very nice among her liter mates -- I do think the "odd man out" is the solid body peavey slab of swamp ash--- it probably should return home here to Florida now :)
