I get 5 to 6 MONTHS easily --

Yeah, as soon as they start to develop the little flat spots against the frets they are off of there, and ever time I do it the guitar comes back to life. It's amazing what a difference in sound and feel you get after what seems like such a short time. A string change is cheap and fast, and the best little thing you can do for your tone IMO.
 
I haven't played Boomers in a while but they did well for me back in the day. Do they still come with extra high E and B strings? That was a nice bonus.

I actually don't know. I buy them by the case and the individual strings are just loose in the bag they come in but I don't end up with extras at the end of the case so if they are still doing that it's in the individual packs. I buy them in bulk because they end up being only something like $3.25 a set that way.
