2 months into this set of Ernie Ball Cobalts .009" x .046" strings with no issues. Still holding tune and decent tone...no broken strings yet.

Just blew two D'addario XL strings (client provided) off two separate client guitars today.

One broke at the ball end wrap and the other broke near the bridge humbucker...

Post your breaks!!!!

I really dislike D'Addario strings. Been playing GHS Boomers for as long as I can remember now. Have not broken a string in at least a decade, seems modern strings are vastly superior to what we had back in the day. But I also only put 5-6 hours of play time on a set before I change them.

I use these --- mostly---and rarely ever break a string--
27465

they come in electric and bass as well-- and are 2.49 a set !!!
They are Musicians Friend house brand

I haven't played Boomers in a while but they did well for me back in the day. Do they still come with extra high E and B strings? That was a nice bonus.

Good old EBall user.

Have tried others, but these are always on sale somewhere.

I think I use them mostly out of habit? They are kinda like Mickey D's, not The best but very consistent.

Can't remember my last string break.

I'm not sure what it could be. Heavier strings? Bridges without sharp edges? A pick attack focused more on finesse than brawn? I'm not really sure. Maybe I've just been lucky...

I'll bet that if I set out to try to break one though, I could probably succeed lol

Mine never break at the bridge.

With Ernie Balls, I have had a few high 'e' strings "choke up," meaning the ball end wrap slips and acts like a choke collar on the ball, but no breaks.

When I pull them off, they are wavy from being pounded into the frets.
